History of the Evolution 200

Our story started in October 1990, when Dick Sellicks and Peter Baisden were introduced to each other. The original idea was to make a One Off replica of the RS200, to be worked on in Their Spare Time! but as time went by it was increasingly apparant that the work involved in making a one off was not at all practical and so the KaRa Sports Car was born. The KaRa 430 was launched at Stoneleigh Kit Car Show in 1992, right in time for the rescession. Although the KaRa got fantastic reviews in the motoring magazines such as "There are successful companies who have been in business for years and still can't touch premises and organisations like these!" (Which Kit July 1992). "At a glance it looked like one of the real RS200 four wheel drive rally cars, yet the KaRa is more powerful, a good deal more civilised and affordable" (Top Car July 1992). The company failed due to a number of reasons.
